Call for Specialist Track Proposals: Everything Open 2027
Help shape Everything Open 2027 by hosting a specialist track alongside the regular program!
We’re looking for three focused tracks (one for each day of the conference) that dive deep
into specific areas of open technology, culture, or community.
- All slots will be single sessions (no double slots or long tutorials).
- Specialist tracks will run in between keynotes and plenaries, just like the regular schedule, so they won’t overlap.
- Specialist track hosts and their selected sessions will receive the same entitlement as a standard session: one complimentary full conference ticket.
This Call for Specialist Track Proposals will remain open until 23:59 (AEST) on Monday 13 July,
after which we will select three, and publish them along with the general Call for Sessions (CfS).
The selected Specialist Track hosts will work with the Session Selection Committee (SSC) to select sessions
from the submitted proposals and build their schedule for the day.
You will not have to run a separate Call for Sessions. You should however encourage people to submit!
What we’re looking for
- A cohesive theme (a sub-theme of the main conference) that attracts a dedicated audience, old hands as well as new people.
- Valuable insights or skills for attendees.
- Your commitment to promote the specialist track during and after the CfS period.
- Your commitment to host (MC) the specialist track on the designated day of the conference.
- Keep this year’s theme in mind: we want to welcome new voices, preserve hard-won skills and knowledge, and build the future of “open” together.
What you need to tell us in your proposal email
- Your track idea (topic)
- A few sentences describing the track’s focus
- The target audience for your track
- Example topic areas or types of talks you’d like for this track
